The caretaker, Hastings, says something along the lines of "Most of the big ones have been cleared out already" If there's anywhere in the instance where I would look for a rat, the animal boss rooms seems a logical choice.ģ. The spider area in BC was the "animal boss" room where you had to kill enough trash to spawn an animal to kill. At this point in time there is virtually no "content" down there except for the crystal and its port for Nightbane: Important, but it's not much considering it's a lot of hard-hitting trash for seemingly little/no reward.Ģ. The area I did not check was teh spider area, and I believe our rats may be there somehow:ġ. My thought wsa that you could possibly find rat traps while "big", loot the rats, then when you're smaller they would be usable as mounts, and so I checked areas in the dungeon where rats may be common: I was unable to find rats or rat traps in the kitchens, the stables, or the broken down areas around Nightbane's terrace. Ĭomment by ZelasMetalliumAfter scouring the area around Mana Devourer I determined there are no lootable/interactable items odds are this comes from somewhere earlier in the dungeon. THIS IS NOW SOLVED - Grats to those that figured it out and thanks to all those involved - here is the vid.

If no one tries this ill do it next week. Perhaps someone can try keeping rat alive MCing it using stampeded till boss dies - then u have both the rat alive at the end as well!. We then killed the same rat and it did drop junk so it DOES have a loot tale of sorts. not sure if it does to the boss we didn't get to try that yet. 2 abilities stampede (rats of usual size?) did damage to players and the rat. I suspect simply killing rats there will be a CHANCE the item will drop but I'm yet to see it.ĮDIT: This week we DISCOVERED the rats were MC able but the small rats were not (critters after boss).
What is the rat pack movie#
Seems the movie has no relevance to the achievement in this case. I was hoping doing this would cause the item everyone's looking for to be added to a loot table of the rat - but again - no loot. We killed one in the void zone - again no damage. We ccd it in the void zone at low health and it still took no damage.

This week my group pulled a rat and kited it into the mana worms void zone during the fight - it took no damage. Given wow mechanics I figured it wouldn't be the first time to use a void zone to kill an add (the last one was in HFC on the Maneroth meta). The particular scene displays an ROUS attacking the main character (wesley) and he uses a 'void' zone to mortally wound the rat and then defeat it. So for what its worth.Īfter extensive research I had a theory based on the scene from the movie "The Princess Bride" from which this achievement is a reference to. The hunt is over!Ĭomment by DrHeckyllIn these situations knowing what not to do can be important in the solving process of working out eventually what to do. Rodents of Usual Size is merely a reference to Princess Brides, and there's an old changelog from the PTR that reveals that the achievement used to read "Rats of Usual Size"Įdit: Xio1234's comment says it all. Lastly someone had mentioned it in game to me this week so I should mention that while this achievement reads "Rodents of Usual Size" it definitely pertains to rats and not some other critter. CC'ing rat mobs within the void zones does not affect them Killing rat mobs within void zones does not change their loot tables

Pulling rat mobs into the void zones on the boss does not damage them Does not appear to be related to this weeks Opera EventĭrHeckyll in the comment below me says his group tried the following without success as well. Using "frowned-upon" techniques we managed to escape from Mana Devourer's room while still small and could not find a way to interact with any of the critters in the library Couldn't find any way to make critter rats interactable through the servent's quarters or stables They don't seem to be related to Nightbane, especially when your mage who sucks at Ignite Soul gets the mount They do not come from the level 70 Karazhan raid They are not ground objects as far as we know They are not dropped by rat trash, nor rat critters They are not sold by the vendor near Attumen My group has been trying to find out where these comes from, and below are things we have tried. This is the item you need to summon the rats that you must ride for this achievement. Comment by YariniCeteri Rodent of Usual Size/rodent-of-usual-size
